Frequently Asked Questions

MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT LASER TATTOO REMOVAL

Laser tattoo removal uses concentrated light energy to break ink particles into tiny fragments beneath your skin. These particles are then cleared away naturally by your body’s immune system. With each session, your tattoo fades more until it’s gone.

Pain perception varies from person to person. Many clients describe the sensation as similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin.

At Think Again Tattoo Removal, we use the Zimmer Cryo 6 Cooling System, which delivers chilled air before, during, and after treatment to reduce discomfort. Additionally, topical anesthetic creams can be applied before treatment if needed.

Most clients need 6 to 12 treatments, spaced 6–8 weeks apart. That depends on:

  • ✔ Tattoo size

  • ✔ Ink color(s)

  • ✔ Depth and age of the tattoo

  • ✔ Skin type and immune response

We’ll give you a personalized plan during your free consultation.

Yes — but they’re temporary and part of the healing process. You may experience:

  • ✔ Redness, swelling, or tenderness

  • ✔ Mild blistering or scabbing (especially with colored ink)

  • ✔ Temporary changes in skin tone

These effects usually resolve within a few days to a couple of weeks. Following our aftercare guidelines is key to smooth healing.

Scarring is rare when treatments are performed correctly. However:

  • Pre-existing tattoo scars may still be visible

  • Picking at scabs or not following aftercare can increase scarring risk

We focus on safe removal that protects your skin. Scarring is exceedingly rare and almost always avoidable with our market leading process and experience.

Can you remove all tattoo colors?

Yes — most of them. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Black & dark blue – Easiest to remove

  • Red, green, light blue, yellow – More stubborn but very treatable

  • White or fluorescent ink – May be partially removable or not visible to laser. We do have processes which in some cases can completely remove ink. Ask your clinician to show you examples at your free consultation.

Our Quanta Discovery Pico Plus uses three wavelengths to treat a wide range of ink colors more effectively than single-wavelength devices.

  • ✔ Stay out of the sun for at least 2 weeks

  • ✔ Avoid tanning or self-tanners

  • ✔ Keep the area clean and lotion-free

  • ✔ If using numbing cream, apply 1 hour before your appointment

You may experience:

  • ✔ Redness and swelling (24–48 hours)

  • ✔ A sunburn-like sensation

  • ✔ Blistering or scabbing (especially for colored tattoos)

Healing takes 7–14 days, and fading continues for weeks after each session. All treated clients will provided with a comprehensive post treatment plan and have access to our 24/7 help line.

In most cases — yes. Some tattoos may leave a light shadow or faint color, especially with fluorescent ink or deep saturation. We’ll assess this during your consultation and set realistic expectations. If we can’t remove it, nobody can.

Laser tattoo removal is very safe when done by trained specialists. That said, potential risks include:

  • ❌ Temporary lightening or darkening of skin tone

  • ❌ Rare scarring (usually from improper aftercare)

  • ❌ Partial ink retention with certain pigments

We use advanced laser technology and tailor each plan to reduce these risks.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is based on tattoo size. All prices are in USD and we offer:

  • ✔ Multi-session discounts

  • ✔ Referral bonuses

  • ✔ Multiple tattoo removal packages

  • ✔ Flexible payment plans

Check out our Pricing Page or book a consultation for a custom quote.

Absolutely. We can target specific areas of a tattoo for partial removal or cleanup — great for modifying a design or prepping for a cover-up.

Does tattoo location matter?

Yes — blood flow plays a role in healing:

  • ✔ Arms, shoulders, upper back = faster fade

  • ✔ Hands, feet, ankles = may take more time

We’ll factor this into your plan.

Are there alternatives to laser removal?

Laser is by far the safest and most effective option. Alternatives include:

  • Surgical removal – May leave a scar

  • Dermabrasion – Risk of scarring, less effective

  • Chemical peels – Can lighten ink but rarely remove it fully

  •  Saline – We have never been shown a single case of complete removal of ink using saline. We have however seen MANY cases of scarring. If anyone tells you this is an appropriate treatment. Simply ask the for a dozen complete removals. They do not exist.

No — laser tattoo removal does not damage hair follicles. Some people may experience temporary thinning in the area, but normal hair growth typically resumes after healing.

Yes! We offer:
