Did you know a healthy lifestyle is in the top 3 factors which affects the speed of your tattoo removal?
Clients oftentimes will do their own research on what can help speed up the process and find that living a healthy lifestyle and staying active can help. We’d like to break it down in multiple layers in ways almost everyone could relate.
Staying Active:
Healthy lifestyle by the means of exercise can help in laser tattoo removal as it increases blood circulation in the body. Exercising causes an increase in blood circulation because muscular exercise improves your heart's ability to pump blood from your lungs throughout the rest of the body. This means more blood flow to the muscles which then results in higher oxygen levels in the blood causing widening of capillaries (the body's tiny blood vessels). Wider blood vessels means increased oxygen to the body and increased ability to carry away waste products. Increased exercise in general will allow the body to function at a more productive rate which relates to tattoo removal in the means of blood flow and a better waste removal system which is exactly how we fade the ink.
Smoking/Vaping:
How does this affect tattoo removal? Glad you asked.
As we just spoke about the widening of capillaries or little blood vessels and how it improves the body's ability to move blood and remove waste, Vaping and Smoking will do the exact opposite. They can narrow the veins which reduces blood flow. Reduced blood flow means reduction in fading of ink or at a slower pace which is how this greatly affects laser tattoo removal. If you do smoke or vape it is not to say you cannot have great results or it inhibits you from a successful tattoo removal but understanding that you may have slower fading, and/or results is important to us to disclose as we are known for our transparency on the process. If you are looking for a good reason to quit, maybe this can be your sign as risks long term include peripheral artery disease, varicose veins, blood clots, heart attacks and stroke. We are a no judgement zone only interested in providing the best advice and education as possible on the process.
Healthy Diet:
I’m sure you can guess as we talk about healthy lifestyle that diet would be included. This is not to say during the removal process we are asking anyone to change their entire lifestyle but understanding factors that can help with results is important. There are a lot of mixed reviews on types of foods, diet styles, and amount of food consumed by an individual but really the point we are getting to here is consuming whole foods, vegetables, fruits and maintaining a healthy balance will only help the body to function at its best. Eating more nutrient rich foods can help decrease inflammation in the body which also helps blood circulation to flow better. High fat foods can cause stress on the arteries which directly long term affects blood circulation and heart health. A better functioning body and circulation system helps aid in removal.
Alcohol:
A big question that is asked during the process is if clients are allowed to drink after or the night before laser tattoo removal. Although we cannot tell you how to live your life, consuming alcohol in excess can dilate the blood vessels which is not helpful in the fading of the ink. Will it completely hinder the process? Probably not, but it does not help the process. Alcohol causes inflammation in the body and you guessed it, this is just not the best for the arteries or the blood flow which means it is not something we advise during the process. Although, we do understand everyone needs to live their life to the fullest and in the manner they would so choose. Giving clarity on every topic allows you to understand all the things you can do to benefit yourself in the process.
None of these will make or break the process completely as all of our bodies are different, but understanding they can contribute to results is important.
